Specimen Required: Collect: Plasma separator tube (PST) microtainer. Also acceptable: Serum separator tube (SST), lavender (EDTA) or pink (K2EDTA).

Specimen Preparation: Separate plasma or serum from cells within 2 hours of collection. If serum is used allow specimen to clot completely at room temperature. Transport 0.2 mL serum. (Min: 0.1 mL)

Storage/Transport Temperature: Refrigerated. Also acceptable: Frozen.

Unacceptable Conditions: Hemolyzed specimens.

Stability (collection to initiation of testing): After separation from cells: Ambient: 11 days; Refrigerated: 2 months; Frozen: 3 years
