Collect: One 4 mL SST or one 3 mL lavender (EDTA) or pink (K2EDTA).
Transport: 0.5 mL serum or plasma, frozen. (Min: 0.1 mL) Submit specimen in an ARUP Standard Transport Tube. Pediatric Collection/Transport: 0.1 mL serum or plasma, frozen. Remarks: CRITICAL FROZEN. Separate specimens must be submitted when multiple tests are ordered. Separate serum or plasma from cells and freeze ASAP. Unacceptable Conditions: Nonfrozen specimens. Stability: After separation from cells: Ambient: 2 hours; Refrigerated: Unacceptable; Frozen: 2 weeks |
