Specimen Required:  
Collect: One 5 mL lavender (EDTA) or pink (K2EDTA), or one 7 mL whole blood, green (sodium or lithium heparin).

Transport: 5 mL whole blood at 20-25°C.  Send Sunday-Thursday only.

Pediatric Collection/Transport: 2 mL whole blood at 20-25°C.

Remarks: Sample must be received within 24 hours of collection; testing must be performed within 48 hours of collection.

Unacceptable Conditions: Test results are unreliable in infants under 6 months of age.

Stability: Ambient: 24 hours
