Specimen Required:  
Collect: One 5 mL lt. blue (sodium citrate). Please refer to the Hemostasis/Thrombosis Specimens section in the front of this User's Guide for specimen collection instructions.

Transport: 2 mL platelet-poor plasma, frozen.  (Min: 1.5 mL) Submit specimen in an ARUP Standard Transport Tube.

Pediatric Collection/Transport: 1 mL platelet-poor plasma (lt. blue, sodium citrate), frozen.

Unacceptable Conditions: Serum or nonsodium citrate plasma.

Stability: Ambient: 4 hours; Refrigerated: 24 hours; Frozen: 1 week

Note:

If PTT is elevated, then PTT 1:1 mix will be added. If PTT 1:1 mix is elevated, then platelet neutralization test will be added.
