Specimen Required: Collect: One 4 mL serum separator tube.

Storage/Transport Temperature: 1 mL serum at, frozen. (Min: 0.5 mL) Submit specimen in an ARUP Standard Transport Tube.

Remarks: Citrated, EDTA, or heparin plasma is also acceptable. Separate serum or plasma from cells ASAP.

Unacceptable Conditions: Hemolyzed or lipemic specimens. Specimens containing particulate material or obvious microbial contamination. Ambient specimens.

Stability (collection to initiation of testing): After separation from cells: Ambient: Unacceptable; Refrigerated: 5 days; Frozen: Indefinitely (avoid repeated freeze/thaw cycles).
