Specimen Required:  
Collect: Three specimens drawn at 20-minute intervals: one 4 mL SST or PST each draw.  Centrifuge specimens, then pool an equal amount of serum or plasma from each draw into a single transport tube.

Transport: 1 mL pooled serum or plasma at 2-8°C. (Min: 0.5 mL) Submit specimen in an ARUP Standard Transport Tube.

Pediatric Collection/Transport: 0.3 mL pooled serum or plasma at 2-8°C.

Remarks: Pooled specimens must be same type (i.e., all serum or all plasma).

Unacceptable Conditions: Hemolyzed specimens.

Stability: After separation from cells: Ambient: 8 hours; Refrigerated: 1 week; Frozen: 3 months
