Specimen Required: Patient Prep: Collect 3 specimens at 20-minute intervals.

Collect: Serum separator tube or plasma separator tube. Collect separate tube for each time point.

Specimen Preparation: Centrifuge specimens, than pool an equal amount of serum or plasma from each draw. Transfer 1 mL pooled serum or plasma to an ARUP Standard Transport Tube. (Min: 0.5 mL)

Storage/Transport Temperature: Refrigerated.

Unacceptable Conditions: Mixed pooled specimens (e.g. specimens containing serum AND plasma). Hemolyzed specimens.

Stability (collection to initiation of testing): After separation from cells: Ambient: 8 hours; Refrigerated: 1 week; Frozen: 3 months
