| Specimen Required: |
Collect: 24-hour or timed urine collection with no preservatives. Refrigerate during collection.
Specimen Preparation: Mix timed urine collection well. Transfer 4 mL urine to an ARUP Standard Transport Tube. (Min: 0.5 mL) Record total volume and collection time interval on transport tube and test request form.
Storage/Transport Temperature: Refrigerated.
Unacceptable Conditions: Specimens containing acetic acid, concentrated HCl, nitric acid or sodium carbonate.
Stability (collection to initiation of testing): Ambient: 2 days; Refrigerated: 10 days; Frozen: 3 weeks
