Specimen Required: Collect: One 4 mL serum separator tube.

Storage/Transport Temperature: 1 mL serum at 2-8°C. (Min: 0.15 mL) Submit specimen in an ARUP Standard Transport Tube.

Submit specimen according to Biological Substance, Category B, shipping guidelines.


Remarks:  EDTA, heparin or citrated plasma is also acceptable.  Separate serum or plasma from cells ASAP.

Stability (collection to initiation of testing):  After separation from cells: Ambient: Up to 1 week is acceptable, but not preferred; Refrigerated: 1 week; Frozen: Indefinitely (avoid repeated freeze/thaw cycles)
