Specimen Required: Collect:  One 10 mL green (sodium or lithium heparin).

Storage/Transport Temperature:  2 mL plasma at 2-8°C. (Min: 0.7 mL)  Submit specimen in an ARUP Standard Transport Tube.

Remarks:  Separate plasma from cells ASAP. Delayed separation from cells will elevate plasma hemoglobin.

Unacceptable Conditions:  EDTA and citrated plasma.

Stability (collection to initiation of testing):  Ambient: 2 hours; Refrigerated: 1 week; Frozen: Unacceptable
