0020006: Lactate Dehydrogenase, Serum or Plasma

Specimen Required:  
Collect: One 4 mL PST or SST.

Transport: 1 mL plasma or serum at 2-8°C. (Min: 0.2 mL) Submit specimen in an ARUP Standard Transport Tube.

Pediatric Collection/Transport: 0.2 mL plasma or serum at 2-8°C.

Remarks: Allow serum to clot completely at room temperature. Separate serum or plasma from cells ASAP.

Unacceptable Conditions: Hemolyzed specimens.  Specimens collected in EDTA, potassium oxalate, or sodium fluoride.

Stability: Ambient: 1 week; Refrigerated: 4 days; Frozen: 6 weeks
UUHSC only: Ambient: 2 days; Refrigerated: Unacceptable; Frozen: Unacceptable
