Annual Colloquium

The Eighth Annual Colloquium will be held on Friday, May 30, 2008, at ARUP in the Matsen Conference Center. This all-day event will feature multiple presentations focusing on a variety of areas, including molecular pathology, endocrinology, clinical chemistry, immunology, and infectious disease.

Winners from the Seventh Annual Colloquium in 2007 included:

  • First place
  • Jeff Stevenson—A Real-Time PCR Assay for Detecting JC Virus in CSF, Serum, Plasma, and Urine

  • Second place
  • Keith Simmon—Assessment of Multi-locus Sequencing for the Characterization of Coagulase-negative Staphylococcus from Endocarditis Patients

  • Third place
  • Cecily Vaughn—Detection of Large Deletions in the Mismatch Repair Genes Using Multiplex Ligation-dependent Probe Amplification
