Intraepidermal nerve-fiber density analysis

Intraepidermal nerve-fiber density analysis is used to assess the extent of small-caliber sensory fiber pathology in patients with peripheral neuropathies. This test qualitatively and quantitatively assesses unmyelinated intraepidermal nerve fibers from skin punch biopsies.
