One of ARUP Laboratories’ service goals is to support clients by providing comprehensive services for all reference laboratory testing. To accomplish this goal, ARUP has enhanced its in-house test menu of more than 2,000 tests and test combinations. By keeping tests at ARUP, we provide valuable benefits to our clients and patients, including:
To provide the best testing for our clients, each client referral request will be evaluated before it is referred out. If a client requests a referral and we perform an equivalent ARUP test, ARUP will contact the client to offer our in-house equivalent. If the client chooses to have an equivalent test referred out, an additional fee will be added and invoiced as a “ship equivalent” test.
If an equivalent test cannot be found, ARUP will honor the client’s request. If ARUP has established a prime vendor for testing, the specimen will be sent to that facility.
Exceptions to this policy will be evaluated with clients on a case-by-case basis.
